Ground Yourself

When stressed, anxious, angry, or depressed, grounding yourself can be incredibly helpful. It helps your mind break free of the hypotheticals and the what ifs. But how?

Take a step outside. Enjoy the warmth of the sun on your skin. If it's raining, enjoy the freshness of the water as it rolls down your skin.

If possible, take a seat and observe the world around you. Notice the birds living their lives. Are they building a nest for the family? Gathering food for their next meal? Maybe they're enjoying the sunlight, too.

You might notice the ants near your feet as they carry resources back to their home.

Run your hand against a tree or plant and feel the texture. Imagine all the things they've seen in their lifetime as they've sat there throughout the seasons.

It may give you some perspective over your current situation. Maybe it's not that bad, or, maybe it's given you some hope that you can get through it?

Take a moment to enjoy the world around you.
