Fix: Affirmation Cards Not Printing Clearly
If your affirmation cards aren't printing as clearly as the ones in our photos, it may be the symptom of a few things...
1. When were your printer nozzles last cleaned?
I had this happen on my own printer and it was an easy fix. All I had to do was go into the printer settings and tell it to clean the nozzles. After a few minutes of self-cleaning, I printed the document again but this time the letters and colours were much crisper.
See image above: the top page was before the nozzle cleaning, the bottom page was after the nozzle cleaning. (Featured: 365 Daily Affirmations Deck)
Note: This is an inkjet printer, laser printers may not have this issue.
2. Is it the right type of paper for your printer?
I accidentally bought laser paper for my inkjet printer, which resulted in a washed out print, as the paper wasn't able to absorb the ink.
Double check the paper you're using is right for your printer.
3. Do your ink cartridges need replacing?
Sometimes when your printer is running low on ink, it goes into 'preservation mode' and uses less to make sure you don't run out.
Check your ink cartridge levels to see if they need replacing or refilling.
4. Is your printer old?
Older printers may not have the crisp clarity that newer printers can provide. If your printer is more than 4 years old, it may be time to upgrade to a newer model.
The affirmation cards in our photos are printed on cheap inkjet printer, Epson's Expression Home XP-3100. So you don't need to spend a lot to get a good result!
If you don't print much, perhaps take the files to your local print shop and get them to print them for you.
5. Do you have 'ink saver' mode ticked?
If you have 'ink saver' ticked, it will print your documents with less ink.
Untick this option and print a new page to see if it makes a difference.
