ESFJ: About your type

As an ESFJ, you have a compellingly strong devotion to your family and friends. In fact, you'll move mountains for them. You will overcome hardship and put your own personal desires to the background for those that you love.

As an ESFJ, you'll even make sacrifices, putting the needs of your loved ones before your own. Loyalty and devotion are two of your strongest traits, and you're not afraid to put up a fight for others.

The ESFJ goal setting style

Ambition is your middle name and you work hard to get things done, especially if it'll benefit your loved ones. You desire success so that you can provide for your family and are driven to get there. Your organisation helps you stay on track and always push towards achieving your goals.

If a loved one is in need, you will do everything you can to help them. You are hardworking and not afraid to get your hands dirty in order to get things done.

What drives you?

Do you feel like you would do anything for your friends and family? Bend over backwards, walk on hot coals, catch a grenade for ya? Bruno Mars aside, this is true ESFJ motivation. You will do anything to make sure your loved ones are happy, healthy, safe and provided for.

You are deeply inspired by those that you care for and hate the thought of disappointing them. That passion drives you in everything that you do. Your fear is not being able to provide for your loved ones, so you constantly drive forward to stop that from happening.

If you ever feel like you are lacking motivation or inspiration, think about how you can make your friends and family happy with your actions. That will light a fire under you and get you going again!

Your biggest hurdle?

Because you are extremely focused on the emotions of others, your biggest hurdle is feeling unloved. You put your heart and soul into helping others, so it can be soul destroying to feel like that don’t want you around.

Because of this, you may find yourself constantly trying to be useful. You want to feel needed so that people do not find you undesirable. At your very core, all you want to do is make people happy. That is why your intentions are always pure - you sincerely want to be helpful.

Why do you procrastinate?

Do you find that you take your time when it comes to tasks that only involve yourself? You don’t seem to have as much motivation when there is no one else to consider. It is far easier to get stuck into a task that benefits someone else right? Being so people focused means that projects that are geared towards others will be your priority and get your full attention. Projects that are just for you can tend to be put on the back burner.

What motivates you?

After reading the above, it is no surprise that the thing that motivates an ESFJ is your loved ones. Because you are highly motivated by the ones you love, they are the best people to get you moving towards success.

If it's clear that your loved ones need something, then you will be off at a run. But if you find yourself stuck in a rut, you may be losing sight of how you are helping your friends and family. If it's clear they need your help, you will be able to dig out of that rut pretty quickly.

If your goals are aligned with those that are nearest and dearest to you, then you are pretty much guaranteed a constant stream of motivation.

You ESFJ’s are strong and powerful souls that are prepared to do anything for your family and friends. Goodness help anyone who tries to cross the people that you care for! Your loved ones motivate you to be your best. Because you don’t want to disappoint them, you are always in hand to be helpful and supportive.

If everyone was so fiercely passionate about those they care for then no one in this world would ever feel unloved.
