How to Make Affirmations Work More Effectively for You

If you’re not one who likes to wait patiently, and believe me I completely understand, there are some steps you can take to help your positive affirmations work more effectively. Today I’m excited to walk you through a list of ideas to try to help increase the effects of your affirmations, plus help to reduce the amount of time before you achieve results.

Steps to Help Your Positive Affirmations Work More Effectively

Affirmations have the power to make significant positive changes in your life, and it’s not just me who believes that. Researchers have identified that using positive affirmations activates specific areas in the brain. The science research on using positive affirmations concluded that they activate areas in the brain that allow us to focus on our positive attributes and feel rewarded. It also found that when we focused on affirmations based in the future, these areas of the brain ‘lit’ up even more in the MRI. Therefore, it is recommended that your positive affirmations are composed with future events in mind, not past achievements.

To get you started and help your affirmations work more effectively, I’ve put together a small collection of things you can do:

  • Believe in your affirmations – you’ve chosen a specific affirmation because it resonates with you and is one you want to achieve. Therefore, you should have complete confidence in your ability to manifest this in your life.
  • Repeat them every day – reading, writing and saying aloud your affirmations daily is recommended. Keeping them close to you, such as displaying affirmation cards on a vision board, on Post-it notes or inside your purse will help remind you to do these things.
  • Use visualisation – close your eyes and picture what it would look like, how you will feel and what you will do when your affirmation becomes a reality. This visualisation can be done multiple times a day.
  • Keep things simple – often the urge to have multiple affirmations being worked on at the same time, but it is better to have fewer. By having only one or two key affirmations, you are placing all your attention and energy towards achieving them.
